| As a former athlete (13th Maccabiah) who made aliah right after and went thru a full IDF term of service, I think this was the wrong thing to do. The Maccabiah is there to strengthen the relationship between the diaspora and Israel. What can be more Israeli than remembering the plight of one of our soldiers also in the hours of our hapiness? Free Gilad Shalit! |
