Lebanon`s cowardice in not assuming control of their own country and instead letting Hizbollah call the shots cost them dearly in the 2006 war - over 1000 dead, billions in infrastructure damage, devastating effect on the economy, etc. Even Nasrallah himself said that he would not have ordered the capture of two Israeli soldiers if he had known it would lead to such a war (source: Wikepedia).
You don`t see any more cross-border raids by Hizbollah, do you? Hezzy`s learned its lesson. The border has been quiet for 3 years now since the end of the war - exactly what Israel wants.
Oh but I forgot - Hizbollah won the war, didn`t they. I need to keep being reminded of that.
Hizbollah is a curse on Lebanon - the Lebanese people know that, but just like a skunk under a house, they can`t swat it away. |
