| What triggered Lebanon`s Civil War was Israel attempting to hold the Lebanese Government responsible for the actions of Palestinian Militants who were staging commando attacks against Israel from refugee camps in Southern Lebanon which refugee camps were under the administration of the United Nations and were beyond the control of the Lebanese Government. In 2006, Israel attacked Lebanon for the actions of Hizbullah, which was not part of the Lebanese Government. Now, Netanyahu wants to hold Lebanon responsible again for Hizbullah if they are made part of the Government in Lebanon. In May of 2008, Hizbullah seized control of Beirut and was given an opposition veto in the government in order to avoid a civil war or what would have been a take over of Lebanon by Hizbullah. Recently, the pro American March 14 coalition won a majority in Lebanon`s parlimentary elections. Most Lebanese do not support Hizbullah. Israel has no right to engage in murder. It is despicable. |
