By Ari Shavit: 'There is no Palestinian Sadat, no Palestinian Mandela'
Talkback
Title:Quite an important interview here by Ari Shavit
Name:Smadar
City: TorontoState: Canada
This dialogue between Shavit and Arad really encompasses where this government stands. First of all the credentials of Uzi Arad really do substantiate that old cliche coming from the successful enterprise of the Kibbutz movement in Israel, ironically not conforming to its political stance however. It`s interesting that the smaller potatoes of resolving the Israeli Palestinian conflict based on the Road Map objectives, is second fiddle to a greater objective by this Israeli government of intervention in the evolving civilization of the Iranian Republic, just another Muslim nation, not even an Arab neighbour, who`s own population is disenchanted with its government`s policies. Isn`t the U.S. correct in working on both areas at the same time, but giving precedance to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, in addition to seek a comprehensive peace agreement with the Arab League countries? Other points show marked differences with previous Israeli leaderships.
