Government stays away because of undeniable anti-Israel bias. Noam Shalit and individual witnesses did a fabulous job by attending showing the human side. Yossi Sarid is right.
What drives me up the wall is that three years on, not only Gilad is still captive, but that we have to back to the fundamental ethical debate from scratch. The parameters of ethics should have been clear even before Gilad was abducted from within Israeli territory. The fact Yossi Sarid needs to write this article, and Haaretz needs to publish it, is so disturbing. |
