I did not read the AI report, so I take Yossi Sarid`s word that it is even handed.
I remember the time of the intifada when AI didn`t care to be one sided. On the local flemish website of AI (www.aivl.be) it called the people to protest against Israel, eg against Sharon when visiting Belgium. When Arafat visited Belgium in the same period they did not call for protest against him (= support of terror).
The suicide bombings of busses or cafés didn`t touch them, and they were not worth an inquiry. On there website they carried no independant report of terror against Israelis. The only mention was one line to look at Human Right Watch website.
About Gilad Shalit, a search on the website return 2 articles which are not about Gilad Shalit. So this even handed organisation does not have an opinion about Hamas `s conduct in this matter.
When someone says that AI is not biased against Israel, I will allways smile about the naivity of the speaker. |
