I agree with Sarid on one point - the people who went to Geneva to testify did the right thing. This is about the only thing I agree with Sarid on.
If Sarid thinks that anyone will remember or take into account the testimony of Noam Shalit and the others, all he has to do is look at two items to show he is dreaming. The first is the report that during the testimony the committee sat and listened quietly. After the testimony was finished, the committee went back to criticism of Israel, the testimony notwithstanding. Secondly, just look at the makeup of the committee. Besides Goldstone, who is on it ? Christine chinkin, Hina Jilani and Desmond Travers. In January of this year, Chinkin wrote an "opinion" piece lambasting Israel for committing war crimes during the Gaza operation. Open mind ? Objective ? Come on. Her mind is already made up - don`t confuse her with facts. (con`t.) |
