In 1930 the foremost Conservative in the world was Nevill Chamberlain.
He was a Conservative, not a radical, not a Fascist, but his party - and the ruling class of his nation were much enamored of Hitler, Mussolini and Fascism.
Chamberlain could not act without immense support from those nation which could provide land access to Czechoslovakia.
And they were France and Poland.
Poland wanted to carve it`s own piece out of Czechoslovakia. Slovakia wanted to abandon the Czechs, and France waffled.
In the end, Chamberlain could not go against the English ruling class which was at least in limited sympathy with Hitler, and in the case of Mosley`s dad, a big supporter.
And now the Fascist proclivities of England`s "U" is unabashed. |
