The US view of the Israeli/Palestinian problems has eveolved and is evolving toward a pro-human rights perspective.
If Israel remains intransigent, as it appears almost certain to do, the US will, I hope and believe, cease automatically vetoing all UN Security Council resolutions against Israel - vetoing only the most extreme ones. If and when this happens, Israel will become the most heavily sanctioned country on the planet and deservedly so. Then, israel will learn the lesson learned by the South Africans. Rogue nations will have to pay a heavy price for their inhumanity.
To date, the US has amorally neutralized all international efforts to make Israel behave like a civilized nation or pay a heavy price. Hopefully, this will end soon. Human rights should not be sacrificed to pacify Zionist Americans. |
