The money that comes in from US is used to subsidize the homes in the settlements. EU is already starting to boycott its aid to Israel and the US will eventually do the same. It will be slowly done but just as the support for Israel is waning in the US (look at the polls), so too will the money flow. Times are changing, the world wants peace not a disingenuous alterations of "facts on the ground".
Israel is doing things that will, in the long run, be of no benefit their own self interests. Smart policy would be to end the settlements and stop the bulldozing of Palestinian homes. This government doesn`t seem to live in reality. |
