sharpinchicago asks, "Why are you calling it a Nigerian scam? It`s an ISRAELI scam!!!"
Look up "Nigerian Scam" in hoaxslayer or any of the hoax databases online and you`ll soon understand. This type of scam originated in Nigeria, and is still very much alive. The emails usually (but not always) claim to originate from the son or daughter of a wealthy Nigerian official. Hence this type of fraud has become known as the "Nigerian Scam". If you referred to "the Israeli Scam" no-one would know what you were talking about unless they had read of this one copy-cat instance by Israeli fraudsters. The article isn`t misleading in this manner (you obviously knew the nationality of the perpetrators). |
