he was Edumean, converted to Judaism (his father Antipater, in fact), and back then there was neithe Holyland, nor Palestine, nor Israel - it was Judea (Ivdea). That may be a good warning why shoudn`t neither encourage nor force gentiles to convert to Judaism!
