The racist and xenophobic tendency of all Slavic peoples, from Croats to Slovaks, from Russians to Ukranians, is too evident in history to be simply - and as political correctness would wish - ignored. True, there are racists everywhere, but Eastern Europe seems to have more than its fair share. I belive the roots of the phenomenon go back further than Catherina, to the psychological and cultural impact of the Golden Horde. |
