Israel has always been in the stronger position - and has used all sorts of `clever` and deceitful tactics to make it look that it was the victim against enormous odds, but using sledgehammers to crack a nut. The six day war (pre-emptive attacks on sleeping Egyptian MIGs,) the cowardly attack on the SS Liberty, the provocation of the Jordanians, and then carrying out massacres such as Kafr Kassem. The two Intifadas, and all the subsequent onslaughts on the West Bank, Lebanon and Gaza used deadly high tech weaponry on civilians. Yet the average Israeli has never accepted Palestinians, even within Israel, as equal human beings, with the same claims to what was their own land. With no justice or real dialogue allowed to them, is it any wonder they resist - and in desperation ending in the suicide bombings that Israel then used as excuse to build the apartheid wall - as a cover to finalise the land grab on the whole of the occupied territories. |
