| Supporting immigrants is a long-term affair. NZ could do much better, but at least tries. The NZ government funds extra English/cultural classes for children born in New Zealand to immigrant parents, within the school system because it is recognised that the playing field is not level, even in the second generation. A country like Israel which so heavily depends on immigration should know this. |
