Not basing subs in Eilat doesn`t mean they are not allowed to go to Eilat.
This is also a policy thats likely to change within the next 2-3 years as the navy increases its fleet from 3-5 subs giving it a large enough fleet to constantly have at least 1 sub patrolling the Red Sea and Israeli coastal waters.
Expect Israels submarine fleet to be spread much further afield in the future especially if Israel joins NATO in policing the Medeteranian which it is hoping to do.
That will extend Israels muscle well beyond its own borders but under the badge of NATO. |
