Syrian air fields can be closed for a few hours with cruise missiles. Don`t expect anything like Operation Opera. The bombing of Iraq`s Osiraq reactor was a surprise. In the age of satelites and with 50 to 100 planes and 3 to 5 tankers over a 3000km return journey, there will be no surprise. The key primary targets will be the Shahid missiles and air defences. I would not be surprised if the Israelis used two hundred aircraft and/or cruise missiles from Indian Ocean ships or submarines.
