| You mentioned NORAID - which sent funds to the `groups` active in Northern Ireland. NORAID never got anywhere close to dragging the US into invading Great Britain on behalf of the oppressed Irish Catholics - despite our historic beef with `Perfidious Albion`. As for the Supreme Court - the current justices are more ideologues and hacks tied to their patron politicians of both corrupt parties and with scant judicial or academic credentials. Their `religious or racial identity` reflect their hack loyalties. They work for their patrons in the ruling class and not for the people. The only WASP Justice left, Stevens, came from a different(and dying out)secular tradition of intellectual independence and the outgoing WASP Justice Souter surprised everyone with his strong positions for civil liberties. The numbers in the politics of `identity` are bizarre; they don`t reflect the broad interests of the nation or its people. As for doctors - technical competence counts; not `identity`. |
