| Not sure about all the other rambling in the article, very little of which actually has to do with the current Mossad head, but if Dagan did make "a belittling remark about the intensity and significance of the protests against the regime in Tehran", it proves that he is a lot more intelligent than almost everyone else. In fact these protests were useless and overblown from the beginning. Their significance was only in the minds of foolish and wishful thinkers (in the Haaretz poster world, Mark Lincoln and Persian Kitty come to mind). No dictatorship can be overthrown by popular action as long as the close associates of the power group want it to maintain power and are willing to kill to maintain power. (The Soviet Union collapse was simply due to the greed of the top bureaucrats who all wanted to be billionaires, as many did.) |
