| Obama wants to find a real solution which of course includes abandoning most of the settlements. This of course is not accepted by the right wing who are opposed to any compromise. In their view friends of Israel are only those who accept their view for a non solution to the conflict. According to that view the overwhelming majority of American Jews who are in favor of abandoning most of the settlements and establishing a viable Palestinian state are also not supporters or friends of Israel. This issue is what can assure the future of a democratic Jewish state and not blind adherence to ideological concepts |
