While it is perfectly understandable, that Israel demands a recognition as a state for a Jewish population whose right to exist is undisputed the demand fpr recognition as a Jewish state is problematic.
Israel already has a considerable percentage of non Jewish citizens who are constantly harassed for "not being loyal to the country". Well how loyal can you be to a country that specificly states that it is not your country???

Besides these days it appears as the term "Jewish State" is getting an increasing religious undertone with secular Jews not feeling that much better about parts of the country than arabs.

And I guess Iran has shown to everybody where that leads. Either you are the only working democracy in the middle east or you are a religious state. You can`t have it both!
