The Jewish population of the US is unanimous in saying that naming the US a Christian state would automatically declare any US citizen who is not Christian a second class citizen. They are, of course, completely correct. I do not understand, then, why the difference - doesn`t naming Israel a Jewish country make every gentile citizen second class? If it is wrong to be done TO a Jew, it is wrong to be done BY a Jew.
