Jewish-Americans & Israelis are not the same and that should not be a surprise. Jews have been part of America since its inception and we span the political, social, economic, spectrum. The truth of the matter is we have more in common with our fellow American citizens than we do to Israeli`s despite the historical, religious & in some cases familial ties. This highly evident in what we see in the Israeli attitude toward Pres. Obama, who has been more or less reviled by the Israeli press and by protestors outside the U.S. embassy who have villified the Pres. who is in office less than 6 mos.
I`ve come to see Israeli`s as the fellow who marries the daughter of his boss to insure his financial security. What we see now is that the daughter (American Jews) has some opinions of her own and she is not going to kow tow to her new husband just to insure Daddy`s (USA) money keeps flowing.
