Over the last 30 years the USA and Israel have both seen the infiltration of their armed forces by fanatic right-wing religious elements.

The goal of these elements has been to dominate military policy and national goals by controlling the actions and positions of the armed forces.

This control has had a very negative effect in the manners and methods of the US `war on terror`. For many years the policy was `kill them all and let God sort it out.` That policy satisfied the religious right by eliminating Muslims but failed miserably as counter-insurgency.

The shift in recent years to a sane counter-insurgency has changed that sad state, but the religious right domination of the Army and especially USAF remains a threat to the United States.

A rabbi from Galilee once observed that a man cannot serve two masters.

One cannot serve both God and the State.
