With this decision Israel does not bring forward its´own scientific forthcoming nor does it act rationally.
The student obviously has a connection to the country and offers to serve in a position far worse paid than in private economy after studies. Any Israeli would do anything to study at Columbia Med School. The decision therefore simply reflects an outrageous jealousy about the fact that this young man just got a better chance in life than others in his age, The decision will also not encourage voluntary enlistment amongst the draftees. Rather wil it make the State less a home for the smart! Unfortunate for Jews around the world. This is the Land of the "Muscle Jews" it seems like, not the brainy ones any longer! |
