I`m not sure I quite understand this - the Rabbi of the army has to just say yes? On the contrary, his job is to state his opinion even if it is unpopular and even if it upsets some people (so long, of course, as he says it in a respectful manner).
The job of a Rabbi is not to be a yes-man, but rather to help teach us the will of G-d even when (or should I say especially when) it is not popular and goes against the grain of contemporary society. |
