This is all about the Road Map, guys. Israel freezing construction is a Phase 1 commitment. Arab normalization is a Phase 2 gesture. And both the Palestinians AND the Israelis have to reach the end of Phase 1 before Phase 2 can even begin. "In such a situation, the Americans can`t continue demanding gestures only from Israel, such as the demand that Israel freeze settlement construction," According to the Road Map the freezing of construction is not a **GESTURE**, it is a **COMMITMENT**. And, yes, according to the Road Map the USA can insist that Israel freeze construction BEFORE the Israelis can demand normalization. Because Israel has to get beyond Phase 1 before it can make that demand. |
