| "Is a crushed Israel in America`s best interest?" Stupid question, Mr. Shavit. America has not invested mountains of dollars in the Jewish state only to crush it now at the whim of a deranged President - applauded by all the democratic countries of the world. What is in America best interest is to see an Israeli leadership awaking at long last to the reality of today`s world. What other nations, much more powerful than we could ever be have learned long ago, we, supposedly clever people, have still to be taught, and that is that time is long past when an Army, clashing not with another Army but with a stateless people, could bring a definitive military solution. THIS, Mr. Shavit, in America`s best interest. |
