| Obama wants Israel to halt settlement construction pending a west bank withdrawal to make way for a two state solution. Israel has agreed to this in principle many times. Not long ago, Olmert promised to withdraw from all but 7% or less of the west bank. Having a president pressure Israel to live up to its committments is hardly "crushing" Israel. It seems that the right wingers are gnashing their teeth and pulling their hair in desperation, although Obama, so far, has only said a few words. I wonder what they will do when he starts cutting support and calling for sanctions. |
