Israel hasn`t behaved like a true friend of the USA in the last several years. After signing on to the "road map to peace", it established more illegal out posts and built more settlements ignoring America`s pleas. Only a few days ago came the news that Barak had approved building 50 more Houses in the Adam settlement, deeply embarrassing the Obama administration. Israel has always acted in its own self interest, not in US`s interest. It is universally acknowledged that Israel`s Gaza war is a shameful blot on the face of US also, because the weapons-phosphorus bombs and missiles, were suppled by the USA. Isn`t it high time that Israel acted like US`s friend and listened to its advice?
Your statement, "Without a strong Israel, the Middle East will go up in flames" is untrue. I think, actually, the contrary is true. An Israel that isn`t a bully, is good for peace in the Middle East, and it`s also good for the world. Yesh Prabhu, Plainsboro, NJ |
