Israel, and no one else, prepared the bed that Israel is in now. Not UN, USA, EU or UK, nor anybody else.
Israel could easily have maintained a military occupation of Gaza and Westbank, without a single Israeli taking residence there. It could have easily averted any such demands by invoking the Geneva`s Convention prohibition to install its own population in ocupied territory.
Israel decided against. So our compassion for the issue now being "not as easy for Israel" can be extremely limited. |
