It`s obvious that any sensible Arab who lives in the Arab world will strive for making it more sensible and democratic where they can express their views freely. So far as long as their idea are "ethereal", the local police will not knock at their doors.
Once the same people hit the streets, its all over. It`s even possible the same brave blogger in the Arab world nods obediently to their superiors when they are expected say the right things out loud.
What usually happens is a clandestine party, videos and DVDs that resemble the Samizdat that was common in the bad old days of the Soviet Union. Lucky are the young people whose parents are as receptive to new ideas, who have to keep still if they know "what`s good for them".
The idea in much of the Arab world is to do well in high school, save your money and leave for the West. Then you can blog.
The important thing is that these young people detest "Haman" than they hate Mordechai. |
