| It was a wise move on the part of Spanish authorities to drop their plan to hold a "war crimes` probe, which obviously was so one-sided and biased that it would have easily been appealed to the World Court. As long as Europeans and others continue to hold Israel to a double-standard regarding what constitutes legitimate defense, we can only surmise that this groundless charges were the result of the Arab media`s broadcasting the same scenes over and over along with non-objective commentary that ignored the fact that Israel dropped leaflets warning people to move, and continued to provide humanitarian aid during the time of hostilities. How many European nations (with their long histories of nationalism) have ever offered humanitarian aid during hostilities? The double-standards are part of a New Wave of anti-Semitism that is pervasive today. I applaud Spain for re-thinking their position, considering its own past of human rights abuses and egregious acts of terrorism against Jews. |
