| The Chief Rabbi and his Beth Din have the right to determine religious policies for schools under their direct auspices. No one has stopped the Reform and Liberal Jews from setting up their own schools -- and inded they have a successful Akiva Primafry School and a cross communal secondary school in the pipeline. The right of centre Orthodox schools have a policy of giving priority to families who are Shomer Shabbos. This is quite legal as it is religious and not `racial`. Catholic schools give priority to families who receive communion regularly. |
