Two and a half years may be nearly a lifetime to you, Moshe. But it`s only been that long since Bush and the Republicans controlled both the White House and the Congress. They still control the Supreme Court. You`re just accustomed to having your way with a US President.
If you think you`re being strong-armed, you have no clue what that is.
Reagan could and did talk to Andropov and Brezhnev, just not as publicly as he did with Gorbachev. He didn`t coddle them and he actually made progress with all three; so much so that the Iron Curtain fell soon after Reagan left office. Reagan pointed out its rust.
Obama fortifying Hawaii is not coddling Lil` Kim. It`s being prudent. So is being willing to talk to adversaries, even if your current government decides to become an adversary.
