| How do you "peacelovers" suppose the settlement issue will be resolved in the end? Do you honestly believe Israel will forcefully transfer 300,000 people? I don`t like settlers and think many of them have been and still are a huge barrier on the way to peace. But there are 300,000 of them. Living there for a long time, some of them for more then 40 years. Children were born there, and grandchildren were born there. When final negotiations come and Palestinian state is established, the land with major settlements (cities) will remain with Israel with Palestinians compensated by similarly sized land from Israel (possibly populated by Arabs). The ban on establishment of new settlements is sound and I support it completely. But the ban on construction within borders of existing settlements is idiotic and serves no purpose but spread of hatred. |
