Mr. Eldar, Israel is not known as a `polite` place. Israelis tend to be a bit abrupt and in your face.
I would be a bit worried if I met a tranquil, accommodating and quiescent Sabra.
It is the nature of Israelis to be a bit `blatant` and assertive.
There is more involved than mere nature. There is the reality of the extreme right, the recently invented `religious zionism` and the people who consider it a god given right to rule, and abuse, anyone who stands in the way of the vision of those extremists.
Israel is `breaking U.S. rule on settlements` for a simple reason.
It has no intention of halting the process of changing the demographics of the Department of Judea and Samaria.
Stopping any movement towards peace, or even limiting the expansion of Settlements is out of the question.
Come on Mt. Eldar, you know your question was mere polemic, and the answer is the messianic ideology which has seized control of Israeli politics. |
