PK, I grew up watching Neville Chamberlain treat with Hitler, only to suffer the consequences: the London Blitz, with a brick wall collapsing on my leg from a Luftwaffe bombing run. And I was one of the lucky ones.
Appeasement and diplomacy, no matter how well-intentioned, have their limits, as Chamberlain - and Carter - discovered. Their usefulness dealing with the Iran`s despotical rulers was exhausted long ago.
Blatant interference (yet again!) with an embassy staff, regardless of staff members` nationality, is a step too far. It`s past time for the West to dictate to the dictators the terms of surrender.
