Read some descriptions of what Palastine was like in the 19th century. I suggest Mark Twain`s Innocents Abroad. The place was a thinly populated, derelict wasteland. Many other parts of the Muslim world were more promising places to settle at the time.
Sooner or later you will have to accept the fact that it is the Jews that, by and large, made Israel what it is today, not the natural endowments of the area. |
