If it is too good to be true, its too good to be true. My family was offered a "special opening" in one of the Madoff funds by one of his "steerers". When I asked for detail and who would be handling the money, the offer was indignantly recinded. So, we were left with the usual standard types of investments (2 to 5%) which we have to this day. No problems. If you cannot manage your own money you should not have it. Also, if you think you are the participant in an exclusive club, it is a "come-on". Wake up, there is no free lunch. "If it sounds to good to be true, it is not true". Not too much sympathy for those who lost their money, thinking they were part of a club which did not include the little people. |
