Next, Israel gave Hamas legitimacy as the armed authority in Gaza when it broke the ceasefire on the eve of the US general election in an operation meant to provoke homemade rocket attacks and send America, and Obama or McCain, a pointed message. After Barack Obama won, Israel then sent President Obama an exclamation point with Operation Cast Lead. Israel gave Hamas legitimacy in that failed op by virtue of Hamas simply surviving. I think President Obama is seriously pissed off at what Israel tried to engineer leading up to his efforts in the region. We`ll see what the pin out of Israel wreaks. No country so far seems to be falling for Israel`s massive new PR campaign. Many of us told you that someday reality would trump the rosy narrative. |
