I see that Walid of Beirut, who once described me as a vixen, has finally decided to do the proper thing and to leave this forum to find its own way without his destructive interference. At the inception of the programme I admired the enterprise and the stated goals of your original team, but it quickly became evident that there were some people working for peace and understanding and others working for dissension. How you ever imagined that discussing the libellous topic of Zionism and Naziism would contribute to a development of "dialogue" as you billed it, failed to become clear to me. At first it seemed that Steph was the ideal administrator with a balanced viewpoint that included the best of all visions. Unfortunately it became obvious too that she found it difficult to maintain a stance that was apparently foreign to her nature. I was surprised that the Jewish contingent remained with you for so long and I cheered when they left, one by one, as Walid attacked them jointly and severally. He revealed his agenda when he finally failed to distinguish between Jews Zionists and Israelis and lavished his hatred equally on all three as if they were one, as indeed they seem to be in his mind. I wonder whether I was the only one who saw the irony of your prayer at the beginning of this year, for the "people of Gaza", ignoring those suffering on the other side of the conflict. Perhaps you should change your name in the interests of plain speaking and call your forum salaam-salaam.net I do understand that this is a regimentedly moderated forum and that your allowing this perhaps too candid appraisal of your history to appear in public is unlikely but I am posting it in the hope that it may prove instructive to at least the more enlightened of you who would like to see an honest debate of the issues.
