when a "demilitarized" palestinian state has always pretty much been implicitly included in almost all proposals? and isn`t it odd that when faced with varying degrees of guarded praise over his "new found" openness to a palestinian state, and yet a unanimous demand that israel stop ALL building and expansion of settlements; he cut short his visit, cancelled the meeting with mitchell, and returned to israel? and yet he`s got the chutzpah to claim that he`s made some sort of progress? of course the eu was receptive! every "positive" achievement made by a notoriously bad actor is worthy of praise and reinforcement... but that does NOT mean that it "ends" there...and it certainly isn`t a green light for "business as usual". |
