and bob, you suggest that anyone with a brain would realise he`s "lying to get off idf duty", while ignoring the fact that everyone with a brain "knows" the sort things he describes are common behavior for many in the idf. not only are they common, but they are shrugged off by soldiers who witness them, and are overlooked, and maybe even encouraged, by the chain of command. so whether he`s a "coward", as you imply, or a person of moral integrity which i`ll maintain; it`s not likely he`s lying about what he witnessed.
you ask, "what is happening to the new generation of israelis? the answer is simple, bob. like every "new generation", it includes many who are open-minded and who rely on their OWN experiences, observations, and moral judgement; instead of the indoctrination of the societal "norms" for that in which they were born. in other words bob, for israelis, this means they may not ALL blindly except the fascist stereotypes, bigotry, and hatred towards palestinians...which in turn leads to those things that zionists despise the most among israelis: morality, ethics, and human conscience! |
