All, Dealing with Hamas without their acceptance of the Quartet conditions effectively Unrecognizes Israel. Forcing Israel to negotiate with Hamas directly renders Israel as a illegitimate entity. However, the reason Hamas has not joined the PA under the control of Fayyad effectively forces it into a defacto recognition of Israel. That is why it has refused up to now. Diplomacy is about subtlety. I don`t know if Mitchell and Jones want to give Israel cover on this. I hope they handle it well or Israel can`t go along.
