In the end we are all responsible for our own actions, or inaction.
So I congratulate "A" on his decision to absorb the inevitable condemnation of his fellow soldiers, rather than to commit with them, the acts of brutality he has witnessed them committing.
If the Jewish State cannot raise above the difficulties of the moment, and cannot bring into operation the moral and ethical values that we Jews have always thought made us better than the Goyim, then we are no better than our enemies, and our celebrated moral claim to be here, in this land, is shown to be valueless.
Every soldier for whom ethics and morals are the determining factor in his or her actions makes me that much less ashamed of my country, my army and my nation.
