Hamas has the capability to unify with their counterparts in the West Bank. When, not If, but when they do unite, what will happen to the leadership in Syria? What concessions will Hamas and Abbass` make?
How will the stance of the Quartet change towards this unified Palestinian Entity? How will Israel now treat this unified government? Will they follow the lead of the International community or will they let a small number of interest groups that reside within and outside its internationally legitimate borders (1967)determine its policy? Or will the Israeli public finally wake up, realize that peace is possible, that peace can be achieved if they choose to recognize and abide by International laws. However, recognition of International laws is not only the responsibility of the democracy of Israel, if the newly formed Palestinian government wants to gain legitimacy from the International community, they too must abide by International law not Israel`s perception of International law. |
