| Many will mourn the passing of M. Jackson. Leonard Cohen could not dance like that. But Cohen was the Kohen of our generation, those of us who remember 1968. Even more than R. Zimmerman (aka Bob Dylan), L. Cohen was *the* great poet of the movement, which was always a movement of ideas, images, beauty and sound at the service of an ethical life. The goyim among his admirers will not have felt how much that voice came from the Synagogue, from the prophets, from the Mensch within man. |
