Obama committed himself before the election to talks with Iran without preconditions. He has copped a lot of flak for it ever since. A word out of place to the Iranians and Obama knows that those talks are off and he looks stupid for outstretching his hand to a murderous and illegitimate regime. So what does Obama do? He says nothing. Always do the right thing Obama and hang the consequences. And the right thing to do here is to support the protestors and cop the flak on the talks. Obama has sold out his principles for a bit of image control.
