| Unfortunately, things like this, other than being "foot-in-the-mouth" syndrome, have become semantic issues. The term holocaust is thrown around far too often and used to describe issues and events which can in no way be compared to the shoah. The same is true for genocide as in, "A thousand people have been killed in Gaza, Sri Lanka or Georgia, it is a genocide!" Unfortunately when these terms have really been needed to be used, such as in Rwanda and Darfur, there has been a deafening silence. In some circles, these terms are reserved for Israel alone to attempt to draw a parallel to what was done to Jews and what we do to others. It is an absurd comparison. I agree the professor is a MORON, but to take legal action against every person who puts his stupidity on public display-I don`t agree. |
